We absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere in a more authentic Jordanian style. So far, every dish that may family and I have had has been delicious. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere here! We had a party of four and sat at the traditional seating which was a low ornate gold metal table with pillowtop benches. We each got a different traditional meal and they were all delicious. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return if I lived in the area!

A wonderful dining experience. You have the choice to dine traditional or at a booth, a nice option to have. The interior of the restaurant is colorful and warm, with quiet dining music. The service is traditional, a rosewater hand washing upon being seated, and the food is amazing. Fresh, flavorful, not overpowering by unnecessary spices and very good ingredients. The Arabic tea is a staple for a good Mediterranean meal and Petra's is beautiful.I recommend you try Petra House rather you be a fan of traditional Mediterranean food or if you are wanting to branch out into something unique and joyful.

ORDER PICK UP REVIEW: We ordered two chicken kabob plates. The chicken kabobs were rubbery and pink. We paid 15.99 for EACH plate and I had to leave so many chicken pieces behind because I could not eat them. I only gave this place one star because not only was the chicken really bad, but the prices were so high. I wouldn't order from here again, but perhaps the restaurant experience is completely different. Either way I have no idea how this place got nearly 5 starsPictures below- you can see the rubbery chicken in one of the pictures as well as a view of the full plate which actually looks pretty good!

One of the most authentic experiences! We were seated at a table with pillows for chairs and the table was a large metal plate. Our meal started with washing our hands with rose water. We enjoyed hummus and pita that was warm and delicious. Our meals were exceptional and generous portions. We loved the great service and will be back!

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine and atmosphere. You can sit traditionally on the floor with pillows or at a regular table. Food is very good, and the service is acceptable.

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time last night. Everything was wonderful! We appreciated the ambiance and seating and the staff was friendly. The meal itself was delicious and very well priced. We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this place. Very traditional setting and food. If you're looking for a great date night or experience this is the place to go. Prices are high but the quality and portions are great.

Mediterranean Restaurants in Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, Windsor (Canada), Toronto, San Diego and many other restaurants I've visited, none was delicious like Petra House...I have been surprised by the food quality and the traditional way of the cooking.Well done chef, well done.This restaurant will be my regular restaurant as much as I can.

Fun environment. You have the choice of table or floor seating loved it. Rose water hand washing was new and cool. The food is absolutely amazing. Service is very good. A little on the slower side but they spend time with each table and is genuinely happy to serve you . This is now on top of my favorite list.

Really really good food and a great ambiance. I particularly enjoyed the privacy of the floor booths.Service was a little slow. That's not bad in the booths if you have time, because the ambiance makes you want to stay and take your time.It's a lot of food. I ordered appetizers for the table and then shared my entre and we still took home half.Lamb shank was extra good.Be warned that the pot of tea was sweetened. Easy to miss and is a shock if you're not expecting it. It was quite sweet.

Food was great the atmosphere looks and feels like Jordan. It's great to have found a place similar to Turkish dish. I would recommend this place for Jordanian Cuisine.

Pretty good food. Not someplace I'd go frequently but occasionally I might go back. Had the mezza for 2 appetizer and chicken shwarma plate. Both were good. Portions were good size. Pretty good flavors. Pita bread is denser but not bad I just prefer it lighter and airy.

Terrible food!!! It’s far away from mediterranean cuisine.The tzatziki sauce was just disgusting, not house made for sure... some very cheap imitation it was just not eatable!!! I ordered baked safiha and it was just grease dough with some topping! Choose other place I wouldn’t recommend that!

If your looking for somewhere full of atmospheric entertainment, this is the best place in town. At night, particularly on the weekends, this place is abuzz with people who come to enjoy the food and cultural decoration of the restaurant. Petra house is decked out with pictures, paintings, statues, drapes, and furniture from the Middle-Eastern Mediterranean, including "traditional" booths. They spared no effort in making you feel like you are stepping out of the American food culture.I ordered the Kabob Mix Plate, which combined white chicken breast and beef. I'm always weary of middle eastern food being strongly season, but this platter held the perfect balance of spice and food. 4/5 stars for two reason (mainly for preference mind you). They burn incense, and I was sitting right next to the burner. It was a little strong for me. Also, the side salad was a little too saturated in vinegar

Such a delicious place to eat! I love the optional traditions and seatings that are available. We got to sit on the floor and eat the most incredible shawarmas. Can't wait to go back!

We stumbled across this place by chance and I'm fairly positive this is thee hidden gem of Vancouver. Holy smokes. They wash your hands with traditional rose water and the food came out so fast! The service was awesome and the atmosphere is impeccable. WOW just WOW!

This the finest middle eastern food experience I have ever had. The food is awesome and the environment is incredible. The atmosphere is peaceful and the service is polished. Overall one of my favorite restaurants. Try the tea, I believe you will really enjoy it. Reservations may be necessary though.

Good service and good food

This place is dazzling. Don't let the location in a Vancouver strip mall discourage you. If you are from Portland, it's worth the drive. The atmosphere is magical and the food is delicious and authentic Jordanian cuisine. The service was impeccable. You can sit low own the floor or in a more American style booth. I can't wait to come back and try every menu item!

The food and dining experience seem authentic. Three of us shared the Petra Mix Kebabs which they say is for two people. We had plenty and brought quite a bit home. The kebabs were served on a piece of flat bread with parsley and pomegranate molasses drizzled on top. Roasted poblano peppers, tomatoes, and onions accompanied the kebabs. Also, red pepper hummus, flat bread, and salad came with the meal. The marinades for the chicken, lamb, and beef were different and wonderful. I especially enjoyed the occasional bursts of sweet/sour from the pomegranate molasses. At our table someone had the mint lemonade and another person enjoyed the mango-yogurt drink. Both were delicious. For dessert we all shared a serving of mouhalabieh, which is like flan or custard. We enjoyed each dish so much that we want to come back to try new dishes and to return to these favorites.

My go to place for any occasion! Food is delicious! Place is clean and very traditionally decorated! My favorite plate to order is their shish-kabob plate! Included beef chicken and lamb, with salad and hummus and pita bread! And absolutely have to get their traditional tea!!!

Outstanding. I wish I could give this place six stars. Tucked away in an innocuous strip mall, Petra House is easily one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. The interior is welcoming and extremely well decorated. You can sit at a regular booth or choose a traditional middle eastern floor seated table. The service was warm and excellent, beginning with the rose water hand wash. The food was authentic and amazing. Portions were large and the options were many. The meal was served promptly and every dish was delicious and well presented. Try the mint lemonade for a delicious beverage option. Prices were fair for the quality and quantity. This restaurant has been here for over ten years and somehow I have never been here before. I will be back. Many, many times.

This place was awesome! Loved the decorations, the atmosphere, amd our waitress. You start your meal off by getting your hands washed with rose water and it is so warm and smells so good! I wasn't very hungry so I just got the stuffed grape leaves and some fries, and both were phenomenal! I should've gotten more grape leaves! Will definitely be coming back!

It's a place where you walk in, order off the overhead board but they have seating to enjoy your food. I had the sausage breakfast burritos which were very good with fresh homemade ingredients (eggs, sausage and potatoes).Definitely be back to try the nachos, tacos and fries.

Ok...so I've never been a huge fan of Mediterranean fare, I mean, I like it, but just not always my first preference when we are discussing restaurants. My brother and sister-in-law wanted to take us here while we were visiting recently so we went on a culinary adventure. WOW! Impressive! The food I had was great and we can't wait to get back to the area when we will definitely visit here again. Best I could tell, pretty authentic, very flavorful, and portions were huge. Server was great with recommendations and professional, courteous. A pleasant dining experience overall.

If you like lamb, this restaurant is the place to go. My wife and I both had different lamb dishes and we were impressed by their flavor and atmosphere of mideast culture. The service was good, which is necessary for the traditional floor cushion tables option. I had fun and will be back.

Oh. My. Stars. This place is fantastic. The food, the tea, the atmosphere, the service. I travel for work, so coming to a restaurant that is calming and with such a vibrant and rich atmosphere with out of this world food is a real treat.You will not be disappointed.

Our wait staff was very kind, the food came out very quickly and it was of good quality! We opted to sit in the traditional seats and it was a good experience. The floors were a bit questionable and looked a little dirty, but otherwise no complaints. They will ask you to wash your hands in the traditional way, which was a fun surprise.

I really like the atmosphere here. The decor feels fitting for the food and culture. They have regular booths or traditional floor seating. Before the food is served, they come around and wash your hands for you. The food is very good. The servers are always busy, so be patient. I've never had bad service but they're not always the quickest getting back to a request. It's always worth it in the end.

The food was AMAZING. My family just moved here and I was sad to leave my favorite Mediterranean restaurant behind, but this place is even better. From the tea to the appetizers to the main course, everything tasted phenomenal. The atmosphere is charming without being garish, and our server was very patient and helpful. I will be back!

This is a great little place. We tried it for the first time and really enjoyed the entire experience. The ambience and decor are well done. We had the "traditional" experience, which meant sitting on cushions around a short table, however they have more standard seating for those don't want to sit so low.We ordered a couple of items that were more of a sampler. It would be great to still have a menu available to refer to in order to know what each item is. (Hint: there are some "to go" menus near the door.) The food was delicious, and I can say it was definitely better than what I ate when I was actually in Petra several years ago. It's too bad that Vancouver is so far from home, it will be a while before we can visit again. Would definitely recommend.

Very good food—fun traditional place. They have traditional seating and booth seating. Hot tea was a lovely mix of sweet and minty. The mint lemonade was slushy and so good. There is a rose water hand washing that takes place at the table and leaves your hands smelling lovely.

Fantastic lunch and dinner in authentic Jordanian setting. Sitting on low benches and cushions enjoying Shwarma, Kebabs, pita bread, and many other traditional tasty dishes. Turkish coffee, tea, and soft drinks, non-alcoholic selections.

I am so happy to have something this phenomenal so close to home. I recommend this to anyone that loves middle eastern or north African food. The meat is cooked so well and the mix of flavors is outstanding. I he decor here is in itself outstanding. We had the maqluba, lamb shank, Turkish coffee, and kanefah. I recommend all of these. I will be back here many times.

Never been to Vancouver or Portland. Just hit town, we were hungry and searched for nearby restaurants. Traditional Mediterranean came up with Petra House. We LOVE Mediterranean and were NOT disappointed. My wife had the chicken shawarma wrap and I had the shawarma plate. HOME RUN!Authentic decor too. Can sit in a table/booth or choose 'traditional' style. It's a little enclave with the low bench seating and Moroccan decor and pillows. Had brass table with inlay. They even come wash your hands with rose water before the meal. If I lived here in Vancouver I'd be a regular for sure. Thanks Petra for the great dining experience!

Everything was amazing. My family is diehard Nicholas fans, but Petra House (darewesay) is even better. The baba was less pungent, and the hummus was light and smooth. All the main dishes were killer. Giant wraps, great portions of everything else. Definitely coming back, definitely recommend

Rude Server, Five stars for the food that i did not get. And zero star for Simona believe. She can be everything but a server, intentionally rude, not appropriate, not informative, liar. and she always seems to have a bad day. Thanks to the other server and Issa who made it up for me. I think now is the perfect time for the owner of this amazing place to train her how to be respectful

Never been here before till a Sunday lunch date and it was super nice! You gotta wash your hands with Rose water which I found super interesting. Other then that the Turkish coffee was fresh and hot at first. The kabob place was amazing and the friendly service we got was amazing! Thank you definitely recommend to my friends!
